11-21-2009, 12:11 PM Doormat96 Joined on 10-24-2005 EIT Posts 5,358 Re: McCruelty - I'M HATIN' IT Supermarkets are just as bad, I saw a programme about battery chickens living in conditions so cramped, they have to walk in several inches deep of their own urine, the ammonia burns the skin on the legs so the supermarkets bleach it to make it look white again.  You can tell this if they have brownish rings around the legs.  That's probably why they come up with fancy names like "drumstick" cos piss soaked dead chicken leg wouldn't sound very appetising but that's still what it is.
