What are your thoughts on the new album? It seems like every magazine article talks about how they're not writing yet. I can't imagine the pressure! They always feel it, but this time Gwen is pretty settled in life and doesn't have her usual relationship drama to write about! I'm sure she'll think of something fabulous. What I'm wondering is...does anyone think the new album will be out and they'll be back on tour in March/April/May 2010? Probably not right? I just got engaged and I'm trying to pick a wedding date! I can just see them coming to my town the day of my wedding! Aghhh!

i bet they wont tour again till 2011 and the album wont be out till christmas 2010.

Congratulations on your engagement! Gwen had Tweeted recently about writing songs with Tony,but,yeah,there's no set date.Tom had said this over the summer: ''“It depends on the album, but it usually takes us about a year” to record, Dumont says. “There’s been a lot of musical ideas; really, the dry side has been lyrically. The plan is to get to work in the fall when we get home from the tour. We hope to have (an album) out some time next year, but I don’t know how long it will take.”

Yeah i don't think the tour will be until 2011 either, but congrats your engagement, good luck to you both in the future!! :)

Well it sounds like Gwen has the lyrics now, so all systems or go. However, I must say that they don't have all the time in the world to stay relevant. It's been almost eight years since Rock Steady and that's something they should take very seriously, especially Gwen. Let's just admit she really held them back that full year, SELF-ADMITTED too. I do wish we would have already had an album and it sucks so bad it's going to be probably another year or more.

I hope it doesn't take them too long but I think they just like to experiment with songs a lot and that takes so much time. then they have to pick which version is the best... not to mention the pressure, they might be thinking "what if this fails to please anyone? what will happen next?" It will probably come out in the end 2010 and beginning of 2011... I guess. I don't think they'll give up after everything.

I don't know about this 2011 tour business. It's possible, but I hate to think it would be that long. If it takes a year from when they got the inspiration and started writing and if that's either as of September when Gwen made that tweet or fall of this year then it would be the same time next year NOT December or end of next year. Since I'm not on the inner loop of what they're doing I can't say for sure, but to me from what I understand they have a lot of the "pre-production" stuff done and are just waiting on the lyrics/melody. So, I'm guessing or maybe hoping it would be Spring of 2010 and a tour around that time.

It is on hold until Gwen stops molting. Reptilians often regress into an incubation like period where they must shed old skin and regrow new skin. Perhaps the new album will be about Gwen's biological processes and how it impacts her dealings with homo sapiens.
