She's been in and out of hospital for a couple of months, but she went back in during the week. I live about 3 hours away so I travelled down on Friday night and was sort of in a coma, like she was asleep but her eyes were flickering a bit and she'd mutter something but you couldn't make it out.
Before she died though, she managed to open her eyes and give my grandad a kiss which is quite wierd but really sweet.

sorry to hear that, and that was really sweet about her giving your grandpa a kiss.
it was really hard "losing" my grandparents, (i didnt really lose them - i know they are still here in a sense) my grandma died 10 yrs ago and my grandpa died 2 year sago, not a day goes by that i dont think about them.

i'm so sorry to hear about your loss, it's good that you did get to see her one last time. when my grandma died, i hadn't seen her in a couple years. we were actually planning a trip to see her in just a few weeks when she died. i found out about it from my mom, who i hadn't talked to in 6 years. the whole thing was just an emotional wrecking ball.
