ND's Music Videos: Performance vs. Concept

Didn't find any threads like this with the search function, sorry if there is already one.

What type of music video do you prefer from ND? Ones featuring band performance, or videos based solely on the story/visuals/whatever?

Normally I dislike too many performance videos. However, some of ND's are simply amazing... Bathwater, Hella Good, and Ex-Girlfriend come to mind. Pretty much all of their videos are fantastic, in my opinion, performance-based or not. BUT, I really like videos like Underneath it All, It's my Life, and Hey Baby that showcase the band's fun and creative side. Videos that tell a story like IML are the best.

Opinions? Would you like to see future music videos featuring more or less of the band playing?

Really interesting thread topic-It's My Life is my favorite ND video,so I guess I'm partial to the storytelling videos,lol. But I agree that ones that show what an amazing live band ND is,especially the concert clips in the Don't Speak video,are fantastic,as well.

i like seeing them perform as a band, but i think a mixture of the 2 is good. I worry that stupid people might think they're a non-instrument playing band (like Black Eyed Peas or N-Trance) otherwise lol

it depends on the video. but for the most part i like videos where there is a story and they're not just standing there performing the song. that's why IML is one of my favorite videos by ND.

I love concept videos. but a mixture of the two is more interesting. Like Don't Speak. I think that performance videos are kind of boring though...

no preference really. i like performance videos and concepts/stories pretty much equally. i just see the good things about both.

i just don't like performance videos where it's just a band in front of a crowd the whole time. so i'm glad ND doesn't really have those. except for spiderwebs really...

for some reason i favor all the videos from tragic kingdom, it was a good balance of performance and concept. sometimes i feel like music videos in general now are too generic with backup dancers and stuff...like bathwater wasn't my favorite :X

I prefer concept videos - two of my favourites are It's My Life and Ex-Girlfriend, they kind of have a theme running through the video.

But I also like it like in Ex Girlfriend where they have short clips of the band playing, which is also in Don't Speak. idk, ND's videos always look so cool!
